The Milky Way at Haleakalā

Most people drive up to Haleakalā during the day so they can look into the crater at the top. Some people get lucky enough to reserve a spot to go up before dawn to see the famed sunrise. My Love and I went up right before sunset so that we could catch the views of the milky way at night. Unfortunately for us, the moon was shining bright and interfered with most of our pictures, but I could still see it with my naked eye and that was the whole point of our trip up the mountain.

By the way, it was freezing up there. If you ever plan to go up there, dress warm. If you plan to go up at night, dress warmer! It was 80-90 degrees at sea level, but only 40 degrees at the top of the mountain.
