So it’s my first time at Universal for Mardi Gras. I get there with My Love, my stepdaughter and one of her friends, and we get a decent spot to watch the parade right next to a lamp post. Halfway through the parade, this big turtle float rounds the corner and gets its fin stuck on the lamp post we’re standing under.

It took the crew 10-15 minutes of moving back and forth and me pulling on the lamp post to finally get the float unstuck. The crew was happy that the parade could go on, but they weren’t too happy about how the float got unstuck. It turns out that I don’t know my own strength and, while pulling on the lamp post to free the float, I snapped the lamp post off its base completely and a staff member had to stand there and hold it up for the rest of the parade.
