I’m not a huge fan of this picture since Google’s night mode has been giving me really grainy pictures lately, but I figured it only right to give my new car the same treatment as my old one.

Trying to get out of the house during this virus quarantine means that I’m really only able to visit wide open fields with nobody else around, so I tried some more night sky photography with my Pixel 4. Not a single one of my night sky shots was decent enough to post, but I figured the car wasn’t completely awful. The Pixel 4 did an ok job in the past with night sky pictures, but lately it’s been giving me a lot of dark shadows at the top of the frame and no real definition on stars. I’m also getting a lot of color banding in the sky background that looks more like a low quality JPEG than a highly refined picture stitched together by Google’s machine learning model.
